Online Booking
All rates are based on number of bedrooms in cabin. First night's rental  is required to secure your reservation. When booking online, your request is NOT CONFIRMED until you receive an email or written confirmation. Once you have received your confirmation, your reservation is guaranteed. Please check for accurate dates, cabin number, & number of nights. You may call & confirm  your reservation  during our office hours:

Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. -6:00p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.

Reservation Policy
Two night minimum reservation on weekends,  three night minimum on most Holidays, call for one night stay.  To confirm reservation, 1st nights rental  is required at time of booking. We now accept Visa, MasterCard, cash or traveler's checks on arrival. (WE NO LONGER ACCEPT PERSONAL OR BUSINESS CHECKS)  Upon receipt of your first night's rental, a confirmation will be e-mailed, faxed or mailed to you.

If a reservation includes a Friday or Saturday night, two nights will be at the weekend rate. The Rental rate will be adjusted at the office when the reservation is received.

Renter must be at least 21 years of age to reserve and check-in.

Check-in Time is 5 PM

We cannot guarantee check in until 5:00 PM. However, during our slower months, if the cabin is clean the day before & not rented the night before  your check in date, we can allow an earlier check in time. If you are wanting to check in before 4:00 PM, you can call the office after 11:00 AM on the day of arrival to check and see if it is ready.

Check-out Time is 11 AM

A late check out time is possible ONLY  if your cabin is not rented and not on the current day's cleaning list. Arrangements must be made with the office PRIOR to your check out date. There will be a late check out fee of $100, for check outs after 11:00 AM. If guests check out after 2:00 PM, they will be charged a full nights stay. 

Security Deposit                                                                                                                                                                                 A $200 Security hold will be placed on your card upon arrival and will be released within 7 days of check out if the cabin inventory is intact and no damage is done.  Please note that some larger cabins have a $300 security hold.  This will be listed with the description of the cabins.  This fee will not be waved for any circumstances.

Cleaning Fee
A one-time cleaning fee (CASH) is required for each cabin reservation as follows:

Tanglewood Lodge $150

Keys must be returned to our office at the time of check-out. Guest(s) are issued one set of keys at check-in. Any additional keys will be $5.00 per set and will be refunded when turned in at check-out. As our cabins are privately owned properties, the guest(s) are responsible for any lost keys. If the locks at the unit must be re-keyed in the event that keys are lost, misplaced, not returned, etc. by the guest(s), the cost of this procedure will be $35.00 and the responsibility of the guest(s).  Guest acknowledges Tanglewood Cabins authority to charge the guests credit card for any fee incurred.

Cancellation and Refund Policies
To avoid a cancellation fee and loss of first night's rental, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: If you cancel your reservation, you are automatically charged a cancellation fee. (SEE BELOW) Note: You may re-schedule your dates with a $23 processing fee within 6 months from the date of cancellation. Prior notice (SEE BELOW) MUST be given to avoid cancellation fee AND loss of  first night's rental.  Please don't let this happen. WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS, NOR DO WE ISSUE CREDITS BACK TO CREDIT CARDS.

No refunds due to inclement weather, power outages, or acts of God.

On a 1 or 2 bedroom cabin 14 days notice prior to your check-in date must be given. You will incur a $50.00 cancellation fee; remaining deposit paid is a credit towards a future stay within 6 months of date of cancellation. If you cancel after the 14 days, you WILL NOT get a refund or a credit. You will loose your deposit plus a $50.00 cancellation fee. Guest acknowledges Tanglewood Cabins' authority to charge the guests credit card for any fee incurred.

On a 3, 4, or 5 bedroom cabin 60 days notice prior to your check-in date must be given. You will incur a $75.00 cancellation fee per cabin; remaining deposit paid is a credit towards a future stay within 6 months of date of cancellation. If you cancel after the 60 days, you WILL NOT get a refund or a credit. You will loose your deposit plus a $75.00 cancellation fee. Guest acknowledges Tanglewood Cabins' authority to charge the guests credit card for any fee incurred.

On the Lodges 180 days notice prior to your check-in date must be given. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due at the time the reservation is made, balance is due 30 days prior to your reservation date. You will incur an additional $175.00 cancellation fee. In the event that you cancel the Lodges 180 days prior to your reservation date you will forfeit the total amount of your reservation; you WILL NOT get a refund or a credit, nor will you be able to reschedule or down size to a different cabin.  Guest acknowledges Tanglewood Cabins' authority to charge the guests credit card for any fee incurred.

On reservations of three or more cabins a 90 day notice prior to your check in date must be given. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due at the time the reservation is made, balance due upon check-in. There will be a $50.00 cancellation fee per cabin. If you cancel after the 90 days, you WILL NOT get a refund or a credit. You will loose your deposit plus a $50 cancellation fee per cabin. Guest acknowledges Tanglewood Cabins' authority to charge the guests credit card for any fee incurred.

"No Shows"

Your credit card will be charged the TOTAL amount of your reservation, PLUS a $25.00 Administration Fee and your cabin will be released by 11:00 a.m. the next day. Please don't let this happen. No exceptions to this policy will be made.

Appliance or Mechanical Failure

In the event of appliance or mechanical failure of any type at the unit,  Tanglewood Cabins will make every attempt to repair the problem or move the guest(s) to a different unit if possible. Please notify the office immediately of any problems that you encounter. Please keep in mind that the property has been reserved and held for you and that others may have been turned away.

Reservation Rescheduling Policy
When rescheduling, you must reschedule within 14 days prior to your arrival for a 1 or 2 bedroom cabin.  A 30 days notice prior to arrival for a 3, 4, or 5 bedroom cabin.   No refunds for early departures (less nights than reserved).  Guest acknowledges Tanglewood Cabins' authority to charge the guests credit card for any fee incurred.  In the event you need to reschedule or make changes to your reservation a $30.00 fee will apply for each additional change. Any and all changes must be made 14 days or more from your date of arrival.


Guest(s) shall leave premises in neat and undamaged condition. All cooking utensils must be washed and put away. All food must be removed from refrigerator and cabinets. All garbage must be put into garbage cans and not left scattered around the cabin. Furniture must be placed in its original location. There is to be no missing or damaged linens. All soiled linens must be placed in provided laundry basket in cabin. Guests will be charged for ANY extra cleaning that has to be done.

Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the cabins.  If you choose to smoke outside your cabin, please use the ashtrays that are provided.  Please also be sure to smoke in such a location that your smoke does not drift inside through doors or windows.  You are responsible for emptying ashtrays prior to departure (make sure all butts are completely extinguished).  Any smoke smell inside the cabin and butts thrown in the yard will result in forfeiture of your entire $200 security deposit.

Cabins which have hot tubs have the hot tub rules clearly posted and these rules must be adhered to at all times by all guest(s).

Guest will be held responsible for any irremovable stains (clay, makeup, etc..) or damage caused to towels or linens at a cost of $5 per towel and $50 per sheet.

Flushing sanitary napkins down the commode will result in major damage to the septic system.  A minimum $250 expense to repair the septic system will be added to your rental fee.

Guest(s) shall be solely responsible for any property damage, accident, injury, or loss sustained by any person including loss of money, jewelry, and any other items of personal property arising out of or in any way related to guest(s) request. Guest(s) shall inspect and be familiar with property use and application such prior to using them. Guest(s) hereby agrees to indemnify and hold Tanglewood Cabins and/or homeowner harmless and not responsible for any and all claims including those of third parties arising out of or in any way related to guest(s) use of premises or the items of personal property therein. Guest(s) assumes the risk of injury or other loss's relating to any recreational activities and will not hold homeowner and Tanglewood Cabins responsible with respect there to. Homeowner and Tanglewood Cabins are not responsible for articles left on premises. Lost and found items will be held for 14 days. After such time all items will be donated to charity.

For the security deposit we accept:

  • Personal/Business Checks (must be received 21 days prior to guest arrival)

  • Cash

Cable Television
All properties are privately owned and have different subscription packages for cable. Tanglewood Cabins does not guarantee any programming with regard to television program reception at our properties.

Access For Repairs
A Tanglewood Cabins authorized employee or authorized repairman may enter the premises during business hours for any purpose connected with the repair, care or maintenance of the premises.

Roads                                                                                                                                                                                                  All cabins are on gravel roads.  The Helen area is mountainous, and therefore some roads and/or driveways may be slightly steep.  They are all accessible by any type of vehicle, however if you are arriving by motorcycle or will be towing a trailer, please contact us prior to making a reservation so we may determine which cabin location will allow for easiest access.

Hot Tubs
For your protection, hot tubs are drained and refilled before guest arrival.  Please note that it takes between 4 and 6 hours for a hot tub to heat back up to operating temperature.   There is a $50.00 fee if guest requires/requests that an additional cleaning of the hot tub occur during their stay.

Some cabins do allow pets. (25 LBS or LESS)There will be a $25.00 non-refundable fee per pet. (2 PET MAXIMUM) Evidence of pets in a property where pets are not allowed will result in ADDITIONAL CHARGES TO THE GUEST. If your pet is going to be on the furniture you MUST bring your own blanket or sheet for your pet to sit on. This is to protect the furniture and to avoid additional cleaning charges. THIS POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Guest is responsible, at the time of making a reservation, to notify Tanglewood Cabins of the type and weight of pet. If no pet is listed on the lease, no pet should occupy the property.  Any excessive cleaning required due to pet hair, stains, etc.. will be charged to the security deposit. 

Animals and Insects                                                                                                                                                                        All cabins are treated by a professional pest control company on a regular bases.  However, guests are in the mountains and woods and depending upon the time of year may encounter Bear, Deer, Turkey, Ladybugs, Carpenter Bees, Wasps, Yellow Jackets, Scorpions, Ticks, Ants, Chiggers, etc...  Guests are encouraged to dress accordingly and to bring insect repellent for outdoor activities.

No House Parties or Extra Guests
Rental guest understands and agrees that we accept families, married couples, and responsible adults over the age of 21 only. Guest(s) also agree that the premises shall not be occupied by more than the number of people stated on the reservation. If the unit is occupied by more than the number of people stated; it will result in loss of total rent, security deposit and/or additional charge to credit card. Occupants in use of premises shall not disturb or offend neighbors in any manner. The use of any firearms or fireworks is strictly prohibited. Any complaints of any nature will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and dealt with accordingly.

Please respect your neighbors and keep the noise level down between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Published Rates Information
All Published rates are nightly rates with the exception of the weekly rate which is for the entire week. However, please be advised that all rates do not include the applicable taxes and are subject to change without notice.

Listings Information
All information pertaining to individual listings is believed to be accurate but cannot be guaranteed.

Check Policy
We NO LONGER accept checks at time of check in.  You may, however, write a check for your first night's rental, as long as it is received in our office AT LEAST 30 days prior to your check in.  If your check is returned to us for ANY reason, you will incur a $75 returned check fee, to be paid in cash or money order ONLYNO EXEPTIONS! We suggest that you send money orders or cashiers checks if you do not use credit cards.

Loss & Damages                                                                                                                                                                       Guest(s) agrees to indemnify and save Tanglewood Cabins, its employees, and contractors free and harmless from any claim or liability for any loss or damage whatsoever arising from, related to, or in connection with the rental of any unit/property, including but not limited to any claim or liability for personal injury or damage or loss of property which is made, incurred or sustained by guest(s) or any invitees. This also includes any rental equipment or services ordered through Tanglewood Cabins for guest use.

Property Becoming Unavailable
In the event that the owner of his privately-owned dwelling elects to remove his property from the management responsibility of Tanglewood Cabins, or property becomes unavailable due to sale or damage, Tanglewood Cabins shall not be held liable by guest(s). However, Tanglewood Cabins will make every effort to move the guest(s) reservation to a comparable property for that same time period if at all possible. A move of this nature may result in an increase or decrease in the rent charges depending on the property that is mutually agreed upon between Tanglewood Cabins and the guest(s). If no agreement can be reached the guest will be provided with a refund in the form of a gift certificate that may be applied toward a future stay.

Linens and Supplies
Tanglewood Cabins does not provide daily housekeeping service, but provides all guests with a starter set of linen, paper towel, soap, dish detergent, toilet tissue, and liner for each trash container. If you wish to exchange your towels, please return used towels to our office by 12 PM and fresh towels may be picked up after 4PM.

Policy Violations
Any guest found not to be adhering to the terms and conditions above may result in a partial or total forfeiture of your security deposit, and will be asked to leave premises immediately and will lose all monies put forth on the rental of the cabin(s).

LIABILITY                                                                                                                                                                                     Renter shall hold Tanglewood Resort Cabins harmless and indemnified from and against all loss or damage occasioned by use, misuses or abuse of any part of or fixture on the premises, surrounding areas and from or against any omission, neglect, or default or the Renter, his/her guests or invitees.  The Renter acknowledges that Tanglewood Resort Cabins is acting solely in the capacity of Agent for the property owner and assumes no liability hereunder.
